“Special Needs” è la traccia numero 8 di “Sleeping with Ghosts”, quarto album del gruppo “Placebo”. Uscito nel 2003, questa canzone è il primo singolo estratto dall’album. I Placebo sono una alternative rock band britannica. Il loro nome deriva dal concetto medico di placebo: la band lo scelse proprio pensando a “qualcosa che tu credi ti faccia sentire meglio”. Finora hanno venduto oltre 10 milioni di dischi e godono tuttora di una buona fama internazionale. Sono noti anche per aver portato avanti uno stile musicale molto variegato, che ha saputo spaziare dal britpop al post-grunge, passando per neo-glam, punk rock e diverse sperimentazioni elettroniche che si possono notare negli ultimi album. La formazione attuale della band è formata da Brian Molko(voce, chitarra), Stefan Olsdal(basso, chitarra, tastiera) e Steve Forrest(batteria). Quest’ultimo ha sostituito Steve Hewitt agli inizi del 2008.
