“Sultans Of Swing” è la traccia numero 6 di “Dire Straits”, album d’esordio del gruppo “Dire Straits”. Pubblicato nel 1978, questa canzone è il primo singolo estratto dall’album. Il gruppo “Dire Straits” è stato fondato nel 1977 da Mark Knopfler(chitarra, voce e autore), David Knopfler(chitarra), John Illsley(basso) e Pick Withers(batteria). Il gruppo si è sciolto nel 1995, dopo la pubblicazione di “Live at the BBC”, una raccolta di registrazioni dal vivo dei loro primi successi. L’album “Dire Straits” ha venduto 12 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo sancì l’inizio della fortunata carriera del gruppo. “Sultans Of Swing” fu il singolo di debutto dei Dire Straits ed è anche una fra le loro canzoni più note.
