“Personal Jesus” è la traccia numero 3 di “Violator”, settimo album del gruppo “Depeche Mode”. Uscito nel 1990, questa canzone è il primo singolo estratto dall’album. I Depeche Mode sono un gruppo di musica elettronica inglese formatosi a Basildon nel 1980. La band è costituita da Dave Gahan (voce), Martin Gore (chitarra, tastiere) e Andy Fletcher(tastiere, basso, portavoce). L’album “Violator” è considerato uno dei migliori dischi degli anni ‘90 ed appare in diverse classifiche dei più grandi album di quella decade. Il video di “Personal Jesus” è diretto da Anton Corbijn, ed è il suo primo video a colori. Ambientato in un ranch presso Almerìa, Spagna, i Depeche Mode cantano in quello che sembrerebbe essere un bordello, accompagnati da prostitute.
