“Sweet Child O’ Mine” è la traccia numero 9 di “Appetite for Destruction”, album d’esordio del gruppo “Guns N’ Roses”. Uscito nel 1987, questa canzone è il terzo singolo estratto dall’album. I Guns N’ Roses sono un gruppo hard&heavy statunitense, formatosi a Los Angeles nel 1985. Lo stile sonoro, l’immagine trasgressiva e le costanti performance dal vivo li aiutarono ad occupare un posto di prestigio nella scena musicale tra la fine degli anni ‘80 e l’inizio ‘90. La formazione originale era composta da Axl Rose(voce), Slash(chitarra), Izzy Stradlin(chitarra), Steven Adler(batteria) e Duff McKagan(basso). Rose, che scrive anche la maggior parte dei testi, è attualmente l’unico membro rimasto della formazione originale. L’album “Appetite for Destruction” è considerato uno degli album più importanti della storia del rock, nonché uno dei più venduti di tutti i tempi: ha venduto 35 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo, di cui 18 nei soli Stati Uniti d’America. “Sweet Child O’ Mine” è stato il primo brano del gruppo ad entrare al numero uno di “Billboard”.
