“Stop Loving You” è la traccia numero 4 di “The Seventh One”, settimo album del gruppo “U2”. Uscito nel 1988, questa canzone è il primo singolo estratto dall’album. I Toto sono un gruppo rock statunitense formato a Los Angeles nel 1976. La formazione iniziale comprendeva: Jeff Porcaro(batteria, percussioni), Steve Porcaro(tastiera, sintetizzatore, voce), David Paich(tastiera, voce), Steve Lukather(chitarra, voce, tastiera), David Hungate(basso) e Bobby Kimball(voce, chitarra). Dopo le registrazioni di “Toto IV” David Hungate lasciò il gruppo per poter passare più tempo insieme alla sua famiglia. Fu Mike Porcaro, fratello di Jeff e Steve, a rimpiazzarlo. Nel 1984 il cantante Bobby Kimball lascia il gruppo. Da quel momento si alternano diversi artisti come vocalist. Nel 1992 Jeff morì in una tragica fatalità. Nel 2007 Mike lascia il gruppo per motivi di salute. Nel 2014 David Hungate torna a suonare per i Toto; entra nel gruppo anche Shannon Forrest(batteria, percussioni). Il cantante attuale è Joseph Williams. I Toto sono famosi non solo per le capacità tecniche in studio ma anche per uno stile musicale che combina elementi provenienti dalla musica rock, in particolare progressive rock, hard rock, con pop, soul, funk, R&B e jazz, e che li rende apprezzati da una gran varietà di pubblico. Il singolo “Stop Loving You” è uno dei più famosi e venduti degli anni ‘80. Il video illustra come protagonista assoluto Joseph Williams mentre aspetta una chiamata dalla sua fidanzata. .A un certo punto del video Joseph stanco di aspettare comincia a distruggere la sua stanza buttando fogli per aria e scaraventare piatti per terra.
