“Rise Today” è la traccia numero 7 di “Blackbird”, secondo album degli “Alter Bridge”. Uscito nel 2006, questa canzone è il primo singolo dell’album. Gli Alter Bridge sono un gruppo alternative metal statunitense, formatosi ad Orlando nel 2004. I componenti del gruppo sono il chitarrista Mark Tremonti, il bassista Brian Marshall ed il batterista Scott Phillips, tutti e tre membri anche dei Creed, insieme al cantante e chitarrista Myles Kennedy, ex frontman dei Mayfield Four ed anche attuale cantante del progetto solista dell’amico Slash. Il nome del gruppo deriva da un ponte(bridge in inglese) rimasto nei ricordi di Mark Tremonti, fondatore della band, e situato presso la Alter Road, una strada sulla zona di confine tra le città di Detroit e Grosse Pointe.
