“Scar Tissue” è la traccia numero 3 di “Californication”, settimo album del gruppo “Red Hot Chili Peppers”. Pubblicato nel 1999, questa canzone è il primo singolo estratto dall’album. I Red Hot Chili Peppers(talvolta abbreviato semplicemente in RHCP o Red Hot) sono un gruppo rock statunitense, formatosi a Los Angeles nel 1983, inseriti nella Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nel 2012. Hanno venduto più di 70 milioni di dischi, di cui 22 milioni nei soli Stati Uniti; inoltre detengono il record per il maggior numero di singoli al primo posto della Modern Rock Tracks, classifica stilata dalla rivista Billboard. “Californication” segna il ritorno nel gruppo del chitarrista John Frusciante(poi se andrà di nuovo nel 2008). La formazione attuale del gruppo è composta da Anthony Kiedis(voce), Josh Klinghoffer(chitarra, tastiere, cori), Michael “Flea” Balzary(basso, tromba) e Chad Smith(batteria, percussioni).
