“Starlight” è la traccia numero 2 di “Black Holes and Revelations”, quarto album del gruppo “Muse”. Pubblicato nel 2006, questa canzone è il secondo singolo estratto dall’album. I Muse(IPA: [mjuːz] in inglese) sono un gruppo musicale alternative rock britannico formatosi nel 1992 a Teignmouth, nel Devon. Il gruppo è composto da Matthew Bellamy(voce, chitarra, pianoforte), Chris Wolstenholme(basso, cori, armonica) e Dominic Howard(batteria, percussioni, cori). La maggior parte dei testi delle loro canzoni, composte principalmente dal frontman Bellamy, trattano temi riguardanti apocalisse, ufo, guerra, vita, universo, politica e religione. Nella loro carriera musicale i Muse hanno vinto numerosi premi, tra cui un “Grammy Awards”. L’album “Black Holes and Revelations” si mostra prevalentemente alternative rock e hard rock. Il testo di “Starlight” è ispirato al senso di abbandono che il gruppo ha risentito dopo essersi resi conto di rientrare in una scena musicale insolita rispetto alla scena musicale del momento.
