“High Hopes” è la traccia numero 11 di “The Division Bell”, quattordicesimo album del gruppo “Pink Floyd”. Uscito nel 1994, questa canzone è il secondo singolo estratto dall’album. I Pink Floyd sono stati una rock band britannica formatasi nella seconda metà degli anni sessanta che, nel corso di una lunga e travagliata carriera, è riuscita a riscrivere le tendenze musicali della propria epoca, diventando uno dei gruppi più importanti della storia. Il gruppo storico era formato da Rogers Waters(basso elettrico), David Gilmour(voce principale, chitarra principale), Richard Wright(voce principale, piano elettrico, organo, sintetizzatore VCS3) e Nick Mason(batteria, percussioni). “The Division Bell” ha venduto oltre 12 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo. Il tema centrale del brano “High Hopes” è quello della perdita e del ritrovamento, durante la vita, della felicità e della serenità dell’uomo.
