“Spirits In The Material World” è la traccia numero 1 di “Ghost in the Machine”, quarto album del gruppo “The Police”. Uscito nel 1981, questa canzone è il primo singolo estratto dall’album. The Police sono stati un gruppo rock inglese nato a Londra nel 1977. Il gruppo era formato da Sting(voce), Henry Padovani(chitarra), Andy Summers(chitarra, cori) e Stewart Copeland(batteria, cori). Si calcola che nel periodo della loro attività la band abbia venduto circa 50 milioni di dischi. A distanza di 23 anni dalla separazione, avvenuta nel 1984 seppur mai ufficializzata, i Police hanno inaspettatamente annunciato il 12 febbraio 2007 un tour mondiale che ha avuto luogo nella seconda metà del 2007 con decine di concerti in America, Europa, Asia e Oceania.
