“California” è la traccia numero 1 di “The Guest”, secondo album del gruppo “Phantom Planet”. Uscito nel 2002, questa canzone è il primo singolo estratto dall’album. I Phantom Planet sono un gruppo alternative rock proveniente dalla California, che ha mosso i primi passi nei dintorni di Los Angeles. La band attuale è composta da Alex Greenwald(voce, chitarra), Sam Farrar(basso), Darren Robinson(tastiera) e Jeff Conrad(batteria). La canzone “California” è stata utilizzata per la prima volta nell’episodio 8 della serie TV statunitense “Fastlane”, ma è divenuta celebre soprattutto per essere diventata la sigla di apertura del celebre serial “The O.C.”.
