“Yesterdays” è la traccia numero 3 di “Use Your Illusion II”, quarto album del gruppo “Guns N’ Roses”. Uscito nel 1991, questa canzone è il terzo singolo estratto dall’album. I Guns N’ Roses sono un gruppo hard&heavy statunitense, formatosi a Los Angeles nel 1985. Lo stile sonoro, l’immagine trasgressiva e le costanti performance dal vivo li aiutarono ad occupare un posto di prestigio nella scena musicale tra la fine degli anni ‘80 e l’inizio ‘90. La formazione originale era composta da Axl Rose(voce), Slash(chitarra), Izzy Stradlin(chitarra), Steven Adler(batteria) e Duff McKagan(basso). Rose, che scrive anche la maggior parte dei testi, è attualmente l’unico membro rimasto della formazione originale. . “Use Your Illusion II” ha venduto 14 milioni di copie ed è rimasto dal 1991 in classifica per tre anni. Il testo di “Yesterdays” parla delle tematiche dell’invecchiamento e di come con il passare del tempo, il mondo diventi sempre più privo di sorprese. In questa canzone inoltre, il testo tende a sottolineare come nascondersi nel passato, non aiuti a proseguire nella vita del presente.
