“Is This Love” è la traccia numero 6 di “Whitesnake”, settimo album del gruppo “Whitesnake”. Uscito nel 1987, questa canzone è il secondo singolo estratto dall’album. I Whitesnake sono un gruppo musicale hard & heavy fondato nel 1978 a Londra, Regno Unito. Furono il progetto musicale di David Coverdale allo scopo di creare un sound originale nel panorama del rock e nel contempo di realizzare appieno le idee musicali del carismatico e dotato cantante ex “Deep Purple”, vero ed unico filo conduttore di tutte le intuizioni e composizioni, con una band di eccellenza alle sue dipendenze, reclutata da lui stesso di volta in volta. L’attuale formazione è composta David Coverdale(voce), Joel Hoekstra(chitarra), Reb Beach(chitarra), Michael Devin(basso), Michele Luppi(tastiere) e Tommy Aldridge(batteria). La canzone “Is This Love” è una power ballad che ha avuto un enorme successo. E’ stata inserita da “VH1” alla posizione numero 10 nella classifica delle “25 più grandi power ballad” e alla numero 87 in quella delle “100 più grandi canzoni d’amore”. Nel video musicale compare l’allora fidanzata di David Coverdale, l’attrice Tawny Kitaen. Il video mostra gli Whitesnake mentre eseguono la canzone su un palco nebbioso, alternati a scene in cui si vede Coverdale che canta, la Kitaen che danza e i due che stanno insieme.
