“The Killing Moon” è la traccia numero 6 di “Ocean Rain”, quarto album del gruppo Echo & the Bunnymen. Uscito nel 1984, questa canzone è il primo singolo estratto dall’album. Gli Echo & the Bunnymen sono un gruppo musicale britannico post-punk formatosi a Liverpool nel 1978. Inizialmente il gruppo era composto da Ian McCulloch, Will Sergeant e Les Pattinson e successivamente dal batterista Pete De Freitas. “The Killing Moon” è stato tra i maggiori successi commerciali del gruppo raggiungendo il 9º posto nella classifica inglese. La canzone è una delle soundtrack del film “Donnie Darko”.
