“Shot In The Dark” è la traccia numero 3 di “Power Up”, diciassettesimo album del gruppo “AC/DC”. Uscito nel 2020, questa canzone è il primo singolo estratto dall’album. Gli AC/DC(spesso reso graficamente come ACϟDC) sono un gruppo hard rock formatosi a Sydney nel 1973. I loro album hanno venduto oltre 200 milioni di copie nel mondo, di cui oltre 71 milioni nei soli Stati Uniti. Sono inoltre considerati di rilevanza storica fondamentale nel panorama rock. Dal 1974 al 1980 il cantante del gruppo era Bon Scott. Il 19 febbraio 1980 fu trovato morto a Londra, all’interno di una Renault 5 di un amico. La band scelse Brian Johnson per sostituire lo sfortunato cantante. Il gruppo AC/DC sembrava al capolinea nel 2016 quando Brian Johnson dovette abbandonare il tour della band scoto-australiana, rimpiazzato da Axl Rose, per problemi di udito. Il batterista Phil Rudd era stato tenuto lontano dal palco da problemi giudiziari, mentre il bassista Cliff Williams alla vigilia dell’ultimo concerto annunciò il suo ritiro delle scene per poi cambiare idea nel 2018. Malcolm Young, membro storico degli AC/DC, ha abbandonato la band nel 2014 per gravi problemi di salute ed è deceduto il 18 novembre 2017. In pochi avrebbero scommesso su un nuovo album degli AC/DC. Il gruppo attuale è formato da Brian Johnson(voce), Angus Young(chitarra solista), Stevie Young(chitarra ritmica, cori), Phil Rudd(batteria) e Cliff Williams(basso elettrico, cori). L’album “Power Up” è dedicato alla memoria di Malcom Young. La canzone “Shot in the Dark” restituisce agli ascoltatori la piena essenza degli AC/DC.
