“One Step Closer” è la traccia numero 2 di “Hybrid Theory”, album d’esordio dei “Linkin Park”. Uscito nel 2000, questa canzone è il primo singolo dell’album. I Linkin Park sono un gruppo musicale alternative rock statunitense, formatosi a Los Angeles nel 1996. Composto da Chester Bennington(voce), Mike Shinoda(voce, tastiera e chitarra), Brad Delson(chitarra), Phoenix(basso), Rob Bourdon(batteria) e Joe Hahn(giradischi). La band ha vinto numerosi premi, tra cui due “Grammy Awards”. I loro album sono stati certificati più volte disco d’oro e di platino. Il disco “Hybrid Theory” ha venduto oltre 27 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo e negli Stati Uniti è stato certificato disco di diamante, oltre ad aver raggiunto le prime posizioni della classifica “Billboard 200”. Inoltre entrò alla posizione 78 nella classifica dei 100 dischi più venduti di tutti i tempi. Il brano “One Step Closer” ottenne un buon successo soprattutto nel Regno Unito, negli Stati Uniti e in Australia, dove fu certificato disco d’oro.
